MY STORY
As your counselor, I hope to create a safe space for you to be able to freely express and explore yourself and find your own power and authority over yourself. With this, I also strive to provide you with knowledge and tools to address your issues and goals. Ultimately, many of our answers are within us; we are the only ones with the power and control to change, grow, and/or heal. My role is to companion you on that journey and offer things I have learned that may help equip you on that journey.
I enjoy working with a broad spectrum of clients and issues. I don't have an 'ideal client' as far as presenting issues, needs, or goals, however I love working with clients who challenge themselves, put in effort to help themselves, and who have the courage to look at (and see) themselves with honesty and curiosity. It is my experience and belief that some of the most powerful healing components are releasing shame and fear, coming to a place of self-acceptance, embracing ourselves, and living with authenticity and congruence.
I passionately believe that the mind, body, and spirit all impact each other, so I work to incorporate elements of physical well-being for those who are open to incorporating a more holistic approach to their mental health.
My Education:
I hold a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I also have certificates in disability and rehabilitation and trauma informed care.
I continuously work to expand the tools, techniques, and modalities that I can offer you. Currently this includes knowledge of how trauma affects people in various ways, EMDR, DBT, IFS, yoga, mindfulness, and more.
