MY STORY

At the foundation of my practice is the belief that healing comes from listening to and practicing understanding ourselves and others. We all have parts of ourselves that developed to protect us or help us survive difficult circumstances. Rather than fighting against these parts, I help clients develop curious, compassionate relationships with all aspects of themselves.

Similarly, relationship difficulties often stem from unmet attachment needs rather than communication problems alone. By understanding the deeper emotional currents in our relationships, we can develop new patterns that honor both partners' experiences and needs.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Candidate (MFT-C) specializing in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and Internal Family Systems (IFS) for individuals. With my background in professional coaching and therapy, I bring a unique integration of approaches that honors both healing and growth.

Couples & Family Therapy

My couples and family therapy services are designed for people who:

  • Feel disconnected despite their best efforts to communicate

  • Find themselves caught in the same conflicts repeatedly

  • Want to deepen their emotional intimacy

  • Are navigating life transitions or relationship challenges

  • Seek to rebuild trust and security in their connection

As a therapist with specialized training in gender-affirming care, I provide an inclusive space for LGBTQ+ couples to explore their unique relationship dynamics. I understand that LGBTQ+ relationships often navigate additional stressors and social contexts that impact connection, and I bring both cultural competence and specific training to this work.

In Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we:

  • Identify the negative cycle that keeps you stuck

  • Explore the deeper emotions and needs beneath surface reactions

  • Facilitate new, more vulnerable interactions that build security

  • Strengthen the bond between partners

Individual Therapy

Through the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, you'll learn to:

  • Identify different parts of yourself and their unique roles

  • Develop curiosity and compassion toward all aspects of your experience

  • Access your core "Self" that can provide leadership to your internal system

  • Transform the relationship between different parts

  • Heal wounds that may be driving current struggles

I provide a supportive and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals exploring identity, gender, and self-expression. I understand that the journey of self-discovery can be shaped by societal pressures, internalized narratives, and evolving relationships, and I approach this work with cultural humility, deep listening, and evidence-based practices. My goal is to help clients build self-trust, navigate transitions with confidence, and cultivate a sense of authenticity and belonging in their lives.

I create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients are seen as whole and capable individuals with innate wisdom. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, my approach addresses the deeper attachment needs and internal parts that drive our behaviors and relationship patterns.

Education

I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and have completed specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, gender-affirming care, and behavioral parent training. I work under supervision, providing high-quality care while completing requirements for full licensure. I welcome clients who want to engage deeply in their therapeutic journey and develop more compassionate relationships—with themselves, others and their communities.
